Chapter 38. Helping Him Heal

The next morning, I woke up to the now familiar scent of the ocean which filtered in through the open glass doors leading to the balcony.
A lazy smile curved my lips as I basked in the calm, satisfied feeling drifting lazily through my boneless but yet sated body.
After my session with Resse last night, I had headed back up to the room with a newer version of Damien in my mind. What Damien had done with Willow was undeniably reckless and uncalled for but the fact that he later atoned for his recklessness by losing that same thing that he longed for was enough to shed light on the type of pain and sorrow he has been through.
I had felt remorse, anger, and understanding on his behalf last night and strangely enough, these emotions were rarely present in the past when I thought he was just being a thoughtless, uncaring, grumpy, asshole.
