Chapter 135. Uncomfortable Day

They look like a famous pair. Astrid is dressed up in a fancy white dress and has a woven bun on top of her head. Barry is tall and looks good in his suit. I wonder if they have anything else to wear.

"My friends and family." His mother walks into the room with a big smile and goes straight to Nash to give him a kiss on the face. He takes it uncomfortably and gives her a quick hug. "I’m so glad you could come, Chloe." She whispers and gives me a hug. I try to give her one back in a friendly way.

"It’s good to see you!" I give her a nice answer, and she nods. Then she turns to Cali, who awkwardly gives her mom a quick hug. She says something to her mother in a whisper. Her mother just nods and gives her another hug.

Barry is less friendly and more likely to shake hands with strangers. He just smiles and nods at the three of us.

"Lunch smells pretty good." As his first sentence, he says, "I feel hot anger running up
