As I walked down the hallway and toward the front door, I could feel the weight of the house pressing down on me. It was not just Alan’s anger or Amber’s heartbreak—there was something heavier in the walls, as though this family’s pain had seeped into the foundation, creating cracks no one knew how to fix.
