Chapter 201. A Deal

“I feel like I have had enough talks about her that would last me the rest of my life,” Mother Theresa groaned. Her eyes then landed on me. I was not looking at her, but how did I know? I could feel them. 

I could feel her staring at me even though I was not looking at her. “What again?” She sounded annoyed. 

I finally lifted my head ane. 

When they were gone, I remained in the woman’s office, waiting for her to get back from walking them out of the orphanage. My heart could not stop racing and I felt like it could explode at any second.d our eyes met. She flashed me a forced smile and then sat in her seat behind her desk. 

Zach took a step forward as I stood next to Vanessa. “Rue would have to stay here for a few days to weeks. We’re not sure how long, but it depends.” 

“What?” The old lady scoffed. “Why? And besides, we sold her to Darco already? Does he know about this?”
