Chapter 26. Bargains in Twilight

The car sped towards the orphanage, silence hanging over us. I should have been talking or saying anything but I was just stuck in my mind.

It was real. It was all real. I had not hallucinated the note that turned into ashes!

I did not know how to feel about that but I would say that fear was my closest friend at the moment. The only thing that kept me from spiraling was the fact that I was with one of the strongest wolves in the pack: the Alpha.

When we finally arrived, Zach kept the engines running as he took out his phone and made a call. After a few seconds, he placed it on speaker and it showed that whoever he was calling had picked up.

“Hey? You lied to me,” He began in a hard voice.

“Who is it?” I asked without actually speaking, just moving my lips.
