Isla's POV:

Breakfast was waiting for me on the table beside my bed when I woke up. At some point during the night, I had fallen asleep after crying my heart out. I cried for Katalina, my uncle and my freedom. They were dead because of me and yet I was here in another cage.

The negative thoughts about their last memories kept my eyes wet for another hour before I finally decided that remembering them would only be worth it when I had gotten what they wanted me to have.

Alpha Caden was not in the room, which gave me the opportunity to think about my next steps. If I wanted to protect my children and get them out of this situation, I needed to be smart and attentive.
