Chapter 63. Trust No One
Isla's POV:
I slept on the small mattress which had basically turned into an oatmeal-colored rug. But it kept me warm and I had a place to spend my nights. I never wanted my kids to face any challenges and now to take care of everything before they would be born was a huge responsibility.
'I bet Caden must be going crazy after we left him. 'Riley said with a sadness in her voice.
I gulped down the tears with a long breath and covered my belly.
'We need to be more careful then. 'I answered.
Riley didn't talk to me after that, which didn't come as a surprise to me. She had been grieving for her loss and it was the only sensible thing in this whole mess.
