Finally, we pulled up to my mansion. Titan got out to open the door for me, but I pushed it open myself before he could get to my door.
I walked into the house without even looking in his direction.
The moment I stepped inside, the rich aroma from the kitchen wrapped around me like a warm hug-seasoned turkey, fragrant spices, creamy stew.
My stomach growled dramatically again.
Drawn like a moth to a flame, I followed the smell straight to the kitchen.
Emily stood at the counter, plating food.
"I heard you were being discharged today, so I decided to make something for you," she said with a gentle smile.
I swallowed, practically drooling.
"And... I forgive you. Even though you never say sorry, I know you didn't mean everything you said."
"Thanks, Emily," I mumbled, eyes low.
She smiled again.
"You need to rest. I'll bring the food to you."
But I couldn't wait.
