Though the car was one of the fastest in the garage among the collection Ezra kept, moving almost at the speed of light, it was silent on the tarred road barely making a sound. The only sound was coming from the inside of the jeep and it was coming from the dashboard because Ginny had chosen to play some old romance music. The atmosphere created by the music was so much at odds with the atmosphere at the moment. The men wanted to go to war for the Luna of their newly merging pack, they weren’t interested in listening to Lionel Richie sing “Stuck on You” or Dionne Warwick singing “Whisper in the Dark.” If there was war music, probably an old dragon theme from a medieval movie played over men riding on horses into battle, that would have been a better fitting song at the moment.
But they let her listen to her songs because she was young and foolish and romantic.
