Chapter 146. Like a Fool

The day after the wedding, I woke up in my bed without Jake's presence. He went to the other room. It was tough to think that we were no longer together. My mind regretted what it did, but my heart was so stupidly happy for being with Dean last night.

I took a shower and found a note on the kitchen table. Jake had gone for a run. He never left notes, but I suppose he did it so I wouldn't think he left the house angry with me. I grimaced at the thought.

I prepared breakfast, and someone knocked on the door just as I was about to sit down to eat. I went to see who it was and found Dean standing there. I felt nervous upon seeing him. I didn't expect him to come visit so early. It was eight in the morning. I thought he would spend the whole day with his new wife. In fact, I thought they would take a flight to some romantic island for their honeymoon.

"Dean, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be sleeping or on an island? I thought
