Winter’s POV

I couldn’t believe my eyes. Lordan himself roamed freely in the packhouse and yet no one noticed it. I had even called him to take cover with us, not knowing he was the mastermind behind everything in the first place. I shriveled at the revelator, clutching my chest to ease my stiffened breaths.

The horse came closer, and no longer, he was right in our midst. My head was still bowed, but I saw how he jumped off his horse; his large leather sandals kicked up a lot of dust in the process. He observed the crowd of captives like he was relishing a delivery dish and the sight of it made my heart ache.

My eyes drifted to the Alpha, whose body lay weakly on the floor, and I wondered what our fate was going to become from there on.
