Chapter 6
Alex's POV
I wake up to the buzzing crowds, feeling refreshed from my deep sleep, even in the scorching afternoon heat.
Mariah appears to be already awake, suggesting that we gather our luggage. Our belongings are already stowed in the trunk of the car from our hasty departure yesterday.
Glancing at the sky, I notice it's already dark. Is this our old town? It seems less bustling at night, but the sheer number of people here still leaves me awestruck since it's my first time.
"Walk faster, Alex. We don't want to accidentally bump into others. I mean, people," Mariah advises, and I understand her concern.
We proceed to leave the station and spot Mariah's sister waiting with a taxi parked nearby. She warmly embraces Mariah, and Alicia hugs me as well.
