"Just trust me, princess," Eli said.
I looked into Eli's eyes and frowned. "There's a lot I don't know about you," I said quietly.
"There's a lot a lot of people don't know about me," Eli nodded.
"You know all of my dark secrets, whether I want you to or not, it's only fair I get to know some of yours," I said.
Eli tensed slightly and gritted his teeth. "I'll make you a deal, princess. As long as you don't give up I'll tell you all of my secrets."
I raised an eyebrow. "You must be pretty confident that your secrets are good."
"They're not good," Eli said darkly. "And some would argue that makes them that much more interesting."
I woke the next morning with a new sense of worth.
I'd been controlled for so long and instead of fighting it I was ready to give up.
