"And what secrets do you think I have?" Fabian said.

"You know the dirty secrets you're keeping, Fabian. I'm warning you for the last time. Back off."

She pushed past him, walking out of the wine cellar and back to the party. She noticed Isabella and Elena in a corner along the path leading to the main sitting room. She moved closer to hear what they were saying, but not close enough for them to see her.

"I won't let you make my engagement party about yourself," Isabella said.

"My brother doesn't love you," Elena fired back.

Isla wondered about the women. Women that were obsessed with control. They had never gotten along. It was nice to watch them bicker. She sipped some of her wine. At least she wasn't the only miserable person around here.
