Chapter 54

Lana gaped at her room door impatiently, waiting for Fabian to walk in. Maybe Elena was yet to go to bed. Or why would he be taking so long?

She sank into her bed. And kept on gazing at the door. Hoping it would open any minute from now.  She needed to understand why he didn’t tell Lorenzo about the secret that Rebecca and Isla were keeping.

If he'd done so, drama would have ensued in the House earlier today. But everybody and everywhere was the same–quiet and peaceful. And when the family had had dinner, Rebecca sat beside Lorenzo, pretending to be in love with him.  Lana wondered what had stopped Fabian from exposing them.

He probably had a good reason. Finally, the door pushed forward, and Fabian entered the room. She stood up from her bed and went to him.

"What kept you? she said.

"Elena. I was waiting for her to go to bed."

I thought as much. I’ve been waiting for you. Losing my mind while at it.”

She sighed.
