Chapter 16
Daniel Moore
"Sometimes I forget that you can't leave like that, I guess we'll go another day. It surprises me that Gabriel isn't here."
"He is," I say without taking my eyes off my phone. At first, I thought the same thing as Rhys, that my brother had gone to my parents' house when he was actually sleeping in one of the beds with the sheet covering his entire face and body. "He's just asleep, he worked all night and I suppose he must be tired enough not to wake up with all the noise we've been making."
"I couldn't sleep that deeply, I have trouble sleeping, let alone like that. Gabriel has been working hard lately. How are things with his parents?"
"The best they can go with the parents we've been dealt with. My parents believe he needs to work harder than he is now, they think he hasn't achieved enough yet. My father is even tougher than my mother, and I understand, he doesn't want the business his eldest son built to go down the drain."
