Chapter 32. Good News
But maybe Lucien didn't find her eyes sexy anymore. He pulled away from her with a heavy sigh.
"Stop, Gennie." He begged.
Gennie knelt there still, sitting on the heels of her feet with tears in her eyes. Lucien heard her sniff twice, but didn't go to her, so she stood up and went to the corner of the bed, where she had left her shoes.
Sitting by the edge of the bed and sliding in her feet in her high heels, she turned her neck to him, her eyes still pink with tears.
"She fucks that good, huh? You won't even look my way?" She hung her head, waiting to hear what he would say.
"I love her," she heard him mutter and the only reaction those words of his could draw out of her was laughter; shocked laughter.
"Bullshit, Lucien. That's not true. You don't love her. You CAN'T love her. I know you."
