The man who joined them was sharply dressed, his smile too tight.
Lucien stood to shake hands.

“Marcus,” Lucien said smoothly, then gestured toward Anna. “My fiancée.”

Anna blinked at that, but said nothing.

While they talked business in that quiet, code-laced way powerful men do, Anna tapped lightly on Lucien’s thigh and leaned close again.
