Chapter 65. Unexpected Guest

Friday.

“Two minutes before everyone starts coming.” Anna turned away from the mirror in Lucien’s dressing room. “How does my hair look?”

Lucien narrowed his eyes and tilted his head for a moment before answering, “It looked better when it was down.”

“I knew it!” she told herself, then looked back at the mirror and removed the pins that held her hair up.

She had curled her hair up, so when she let it down, it bounced on her shoulders, and she sighed with satisfaction. Lucien had been ready forty minutes ago, but she kept on tackling her hair; it made him chuckle every once in a while.

She turned away from the mirror again and went to him. “You’re so calm. Doesn’t it bother you that we have both our parents to impress today?”

“What’s the worst that could happen?”
