Luckily, I held him fast and put his head on my shoulders.

God! He was too heavy!

The strong smell of alcohol enthralled my nostrils. I scrutinized my brows in disgust and almost yelled at his ears,

He didn't utter any appropriate words and only giggled in my ears like a drunkard. I sighed helplessly and heard a guard offering gently,

" Madam, let us take him upstairs. He isn't in his conscious state."

I declined softly,

" No need! I can take care of him alone."

They seemed hesitant but didn't insist further as I began to drag him upstairs. He was supporting his weight on my shoulders. I wrapped his arms around my neck for better support and dragged him upstairs.
