Veronica scooted closer until the length of his long legs came under her ears. Eyes stared hard at the glasses that she was pouring down, Veronica sharpened her ears so that she could hear the words from another opponent easily.

Luther pinched the space between his brows. Anger quickly surfaced on his expression as he replied to the other party,

" Ask her what she wants now! "

The other end of their phone call went silent until a voice spoke out a little bit frustratingly,

" She wanted to go with you in that ball but you tricked her to stay in her room. So she is very mad and venting her anger on us."

Luther's voice came out sharply as he traced his thumb over his left thigh,

" I have done everything for her sake. She isn't fully recovered yet."

Veronica's heart dropped a few degrees lower after Luther mentioned that someone hadn't fully recovered yet.
