Jenny remained silent.

“Now if only I could get Romeo on board to come with us. I could be going for a nice walk on the beach with him right now. See those rocks over there?” Lily pointed toward the south where some breakers were. “We could take a picnic and then he could bend me over one of those stones and rail me until my legs stop working.”

Lily’s demonic hearing picked up the sound of Dana’s phone vibrating, followed almost immediately by the sound of the zombie dropping it. That immediately had her attention. Dana’s reflexes were far too good to be dropping a phone. Twisting in her seat to look into the beach house, she saw Dana staring at her cell phone as if trying to unravel the mysteries of the universe.

“We get a new gig?” she asked. “I hope we’re not just the opener. Last place was a dive. I didn’t even get dinner out of it.” Lily made a point of jabbing Jenny in the belly with a finger. “Somebody was a rotten cunt and stole all my peanuts.”
