Chapter 50. Wounded Hearts
"I'm here to get all of the evidence," she said, almost whispering.
"No, I'll do that myself," I said before I started to pick up one of the boxes again, but she stopped me by holding my arm.
"I don't want you to get involved," she said, like she's pleading.
"And I also don't want to involve myself, but it keeps happening again and again, so just let me do my own thing," I said before harshly removing her hand from my arm.
She followed me outside, telling me to stop.
"Look, this is something I needed to do," she explained.
"And this is also something I need to do!" I almost yelled. "This is something I chose to do because I wanted to clear the names of my parents connected to your family. I wanted them out of your father. I wanted them to have freedom so that wherever they are right now, they could feel free and at peace now. I wanted to give them that."
