Chapter 4

Two weeks later…

Ajdin's birthday is coming. It was held in the huge function hall of their mansion. All the visitors that attended the party were Ajdin's friends, close friends of his family, and business partners of his family.

During Ajdin's birthday party, Daniel officially announced the official date of the turnover of his position as CEO of their holding company to Ajdin

After the announcement, dinner was served. Then when dinner was over, the dance began. Especially for couples dancing to sweet music.

All the visitors celebrate while Melisa feels uncomfortable at the party. This is because some of Ajdin's female friends want to embarrass her at the party since they saw Melisa attend the party.

In addition, Melisa feels jealous because many women are interested in Ajdn. Even though she has no right to feel that way, she can't stop herself from feeling that way.

Melisa finds a seat for a while because her feet hurt from the high heels she wears. She is not used to wearing such shoes. She watches the couple who are dancing when Ajdin comes to her. Ask her to dance with him when Remember Me This Way by Jordan Hill plays.

When the visitors saw Ajdin dancing with the woman who looked like she didn't belong to them, their reactions were different. There's the so-called violent reaction from Ajdin's friend who is from the start against Ajdin getting close to Melisa.

Ajdin's family feels disappointed that he broke the rules just to be with Melisa even though they warned him to stop making friends with her.

Melisa notices people's reactions. Because of that, she regrets why she listened to her adoptive family to attend Ajdin's birthday party.

Melisa decided to stop seeing Ajdin when she learned from Ajdin that his grandfather had warned him to stop wasting his time for her. Melisa is afraid of the possible consequences if she continues to make friends with Ajdin. She doesn't want Ajdin's family to hate him.

When her adoptive family learns his decision that she wants to stop seeing Ajdin, they warn her that if she does that they will send her out of their house. Because Melisa has nowhere to go, she just obeys them.

Her adoptive family would like Melisa to meet Ajdin. As much as possible. They want her to become Ajdin's fiancée. But Ajdin only wants Melisa's friendship.

But Melisa's adoptive family doesn't lose hope that Ajdin and Melisa will marry one day. So they keep pushing Melisa towards him.

Whenever Ajdin invites her to an occasion like this. They force Melisa to attend even though she doesn't want to.

And if Ajdin invites her to hang around in a pub no matter how late it is, her adoptive family pushes her to see Ajdin.

Seeing her adoptive family behave in such a way, made her feel afraid. As if they intended to obtain money from Ajdin's wealthy family at her expense. She knows how greedy they are about money. So Melisa is planning to stop seeing Ajdin to stop what her adoptive family is planning to do.

Upon seeing people's reaction to Ajdin's birthday party. Melisa is determined to stop seeing Ajdin after that night.

It's midnight when the party is over. Melisa bid Ajdin farewell and headed home. Since Ajdin was intoxicated he was unable to drive Melisa home.

Melisa is on her way home when a man suddenly pulls her into his car. He brings Melisa to an abandoned building.

Melisa can't speak when he points a gun at her head when she looks back at him. She drowns in fear. He told her to get inside the abandoned building.

" Get inside that building!" The man whispers as if he is afraid someone might hear him.”

"Why should I?" Melisa asked him while feeling nervous about the gun pointing at her head.

Instead of answering her question, the man pushes her inside the building and does all he wants with her. Melisa can't scream or ask for help because she is too afraid. And the man warned him. He will simply tell anyone that it's her fault because he was seduced by her if she asks for help. Or perhaps he will slay her and tell them that her friend Ajdin is the suspect since she came from his birthday party that night.

Melisa has no choice but to keep silent and cry while he does what he wants from her. If she dies, Ajdin will be labeled a suspect if that man points him out as the suspect. She does not fear death, but what will happen to him if she dies?

Aside from that, she doesn't want to be branded as a flirt if that man spreads lies. She doesn't want her image ruined like that.

While the man does lustful things toward her, she feels too angry. She wants to get his gun and shoot him. But she knows if she shoots the man with his gun and dies, a police officer will arrest her. She doesn't want to be in jail. For sure her adoptive family will not help her.

She has no choice but to keep silent and cry while he does such hideous things to her. After the man satisfied his lustful desires, he left her lying nude on the floor. He stepped outside the building as if he had done nothing.

After the man left the building, Melisa cried and cried while she was on her knees. She hates the man too much, as well as herself for being helpless and cowardly. She hates herself because she let her fears defeat her.

After she cried a lot she composed herself. She stood up and put her clothes back on. Then she stepped outside the building. Outside the building, she saw the man's car departing.

She doesn't know who that man is and why he knows Ajdin. Melisa goes home despite what happened to her. She is on her way to her room when Esmeralda notices her dirty clothes with a bloodstain. Esmeralda questions her immediately.

"What happened to you, Melisa?"

" Nothing has happened to me. Why are you asking me that question?"

"Stop telling lies, Melisa. What did Ajdin do to you?"

"Ajdin has nothing to do with what happened to me!"

"Don't be afraid, Melisa. Tell me what Ajdin did to you?"

"As I said, Ajdin did nothing with me."

" I don't believe in you, Melisa. He needs to marry you, or I will sue him. I will talk to his family by tomorrow, I swear! I will do so as soon as the sun rises!"

"Mother, how many times have I told you? Ajdin is not the one who wronged me!"

"Get to your room. From now on you cannot leave outside unless this matter has been settled. "

" Mother, please. I'm begging you. Please, don't do anything that shames Ajdin and his family."

"My God, Melisa! He disrespects you, but you want to protect him!"

"Because he has nothing to do with what happened to me!"

" Enough! Go to your room!"

Because Melisa was feeling so sick and filthy, she ran upstairs to get into her room when Esmeralda ended their conversation.
