Chapter 148
Nathan’s POV
We pull into the driveway just as the second van pulls away, the engine low and grumbling as it rolls down the hill. The first one’s already gone, leaving nothing behind but fresh tire tracks and the faint scent of sawdust in the air.
Theo raises a brow, glancing out the windshield. “Huh.”
I shift into park and kill the engine. “You expecting deliveries?”
“Nope.” He smirks and unclicks his belt. “But judging by the smug grin on your face, you are.”
“I’m not grinning.”
“You’re definitely suspicious.” Theo gets out of the car and slams the door shut behind him, stretching as he glances up at the house. “Looks like someone’s been busy.” He points to the window that is open.
