Chapter 137

Patrick Banks POV

I froze when I saw him.

Noah.

He had grown a little bit taller.

He wasn’t even with a jacket, he looked cold.

I pulled him into a warm hug. “How did you get here?” I asked when I broke the hug, crouching down to his level. “How long have you been outside the gate for?”

Noah shrugged his shoulders, his voice low as he responded. “I don’t know. My legs are hurting me. I’ve been standing outside for a while now.”

My chest tightened at his words.

He had been outside for a while but nobody noticed.

“Why didn’t you knock on the gate?” I asked, lowering my gaze.

He didn’t respond, he just let out a tired sigh.

Even if Noah wasn’t my biological son, I still cared deeply about him. My feelings towards him didn’t change on bit even if we were apart for months.

“Who brought you here?” I asked, my curiosity getting the better of me.

“My mommy.”

“Okay,” I responded with a sigh. “Let’s go inside.
