Ten million dollars? That was chump change to me. But it was still too much to throw at someone who decided to stab me in the back.
I let out a scoff. “You must be out of your mind.”
I couldn’t hide the irritation on my face even if I tried.
Her face fell. “Do you know how risky it is for me to release a public statement saying I was just trying to frame you?”
“You should have thought about the consequences before you went public with something like that … or told whoever you told.”
