Valerie Will POV

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a strange room. It was empty with white walls and a cold floor that made my skin crawl.

I blinked multiple times as I tried to adjust to the light.

“You’re awake.” Patrick’s voice sounded through the quiet room.

Panic crept into my chest. “Oh my goodness, where are we?” I asked, my voice trembling. “Have we been kidnapped?”

Patrick nodded. “I think so.” His voice was too calm.

“Patrick! What are we going to do?” I yelled.

“Shshhh.” He replied immediately.

“What are we going to do?” I asked, my voice barely above a whisper.

Patrick exhaled deeply. “Let’s just wait for them to come back. Let’s see what they want.” He replied, his voice soft. “Just stay calm.”

How did he expect me to stay calm after someone had just drugged me and taken me to a strange location? I had no idea how long I had even been unconscious for.

What did they want? Who would even want
