“Wow.” My mother muttered under her breath when I was done narrating everything to her. “I’m sorry you had to go through something so traumatic.” Her voice was filled with sympathy.
“That was the worst day of my life,” I said, leaning back into the couch.
“What did Patrick have to say? Has he forgiven you?”
I shrugged. “I don’t know. We haven’t really talked about it. But at least, he ate the dinner I made for him.” I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.
“What of Celeste? Have you talked to her about it?” My mother asked, narrowing her eyes at me. “So all those times while you were accusing me of telling your business to Patrick, she was the one behind it.” She added, shaking her head in disbelief.
“I don’t think I’ll talk to her about it. Maybe she just wanted revenge because I made her lose her license.” I said, running my fingers through my hair. “She saw an opportunity to get it back and didn’t hesitate to throw me
