Chapter 43
For the rest of the day, they walked around each other. They wouldn’t walk the same way, they wouldn’t share the same space. Supper was particularly awkward. It was not a new atmosphere; they were both quite accustomed to the awkward silence that hung between them, as it was the regular mood in their home.
The problem this time was that neither of them wanted this awkwardness. Gone was the time when they wanted to prove a point to each other. This time around, it just felt weird to bring up a conversation and even weirder not to. Dom shifted in his seat as dinner was served. He knew it wasn't just him who was uncomfortable; she was too, visibly.
