For the rest of the day, they walked around each other. They wouldn’t walk the same way, they wouldn’t share the same space. Supper was particularly awkward. It was not a new atmosphere; they were both quite accustomed to the awkward silence that hung between them, as it was the regular mood in their home.

The problem this time was that neither of them wanted this awkwardness. Gone was the time when they wanted to prove a point to each other.
