Chapter 44

It was time. Gen stepped back to examine what had been done to her and was stunned by the woman looking back at her in the mirror. She always knew she was beautiful, but this? This woman standing before her was breathtaking. She had asked for a look that would boost her confidence, and that was exactly what she got. This was the literal definition of look-good-feel-good or maybe even dressing to kill because she was about to kill this show.

For a second, she tried to imagine how Dom would react when he saw her. She did not think he could be that immune to this look. She was not trying to blow his mind or anything, but it would be nice and encouraging to know he thought she looked good.

She had not seen him since breakfast. He had said he would be out for most of the day, applying the finishing touches to Eleganza’s line, and he did spend the entire day out. The main event had happened during the day; what she was attending was the final event, the cocktail party.
