Chapter 45. End of the Occult

Amidst the darkness, Gregory paired his gaze around and his expression froze when he saw Edwina lying on the bronze altar standing before the statue with its eyes glowing as it roared dejectedly.

Ms. Merrigold frowned and Gregory's heart almost skipped a beat. For a moment, he thought the statue was going to pound on Edwina and devour her as a sacrificial figure. 

However, the grotesque outcry soon waned and Sonomork's statue began to crack. Its eyes that glowed dark red had become dim and lifeless. Ut resembled a statue now as it had lost the vibrant aura of evil and life that prior surrounded it.
