Chapter 67. Mortal Danger
Leonidas' face was pale, sweat dripping from his forehead, and his breath came in shallow gasps. She knew that time was of the essence, and they needed to do something quick.
" Darling daughter, I'm ... sorry" Leonidas struggled to say as his body started to weaken. The silver dagger was poisoned with wolfbane. If Rethovarth had struck the knife at his heart, he wouldnt have had a way to escape death considering
Guadalupe grabbed Edwina's bed sheet and quickly knelt by Leonidas side.
" Stand aside!" She warned Edwina and the latter quickly moved back. Guadalupe grabbed the hilt of the dagger stuck to Leonidas' chest and pulled it out with clenched teeth.
" Nghaaa!" Leonidas screamed out loud in pain as he felt huge pain permeate through his whole being. He almost slumped if not for the fact that Guadalupe quickly held an arm around his back to support him.
With a sense of urgency, she laid Leonidas back gently against the bed frame.
