Chapter 3. A Lot of Questions

They still had a lot of questions they wanted to ask Allison, but not before Allison bolted away from them, appearing pale and terrified.

When Jacob Thompson noticed the woman's complexion, he became concerned. He quickly regretted how they cornered her with questions. He could clearly remember how she gasped in fear. And Jacob, as someone with a pleasant attitude, felt like he had done something wrong.

His conscience urged him to follow her at once. Merely to make certain that the woman would not suffer any harm.

"Allison!" he called as he hurriedly walked after her.

He scanned the area surrounding him outside the building to find her. As he continued to wander, he finally caught sight of Allison with another woman despite the crowd making it difficult to see her. Jacob was about to go where they were when she suddenly started to lose consciousness.

Deep inside, his heart raced seeing how Allison's friend called for help, yet he knew he would be shoved away if he got closer to them. Especially since the women did not even know who he was.

Just to make sure that nothing bad would happen, he came after the ambulance.

As soon as they went to the hospital, that was when he discovered the truth that started it all.

Hiding behind the wall where Allison was admitted, he eavesdropped on what the physician had said.

"You need to take some rest and take care of yourself and your baby. Congratulations, Miss Allison. You are two months pregnant."

His mouth dropped open in horror as he heard the doctor's prognosis, and his eyes widened.

The fact that one of them—one of the Thompsons—might be the father of the child she was carrying was not beyond the wit of Jacob. When the perplexing night occurred months earlier, it was no longer astonishing that she might have become pregnant. In particular, none of them had ever seen a single form of contraception in the room at the time.

Without any more hesitation, he sent a text message to his cousins.

To Thompsons:

[Emergency meeting at Nathan's house.]

Those were the only words he messaged and for sure, the other three would get that without further explanation.

The place of his cousin, Nathan, was the same as ever. It was dim with a black, white, and gray theme. Above all, the number of packs of condoms and underwear of his women was seen everywhere.

Jacob could not help but shake his head while looking around, he suddenly had the urge to scold him again.

One by one, they arrived and when finally complete, he started saying the reason why he held the emergency meeting.

"I followed Allison when she left the building earlier," he muttered.

Gabriel nodded, Brent seemed like he did care, while Nathan was just raising his eyebrow waiting for more information.

Sighing, he ruffled his already disheveled hair. "She's pregnant, and one of us might be the father of the child."

Horror went through his cousin's face when he dropped the bomb. Just like his reaction when he heard about it earlier, they were shocked to the point that it rendered them speechless.

"The fuck?" Nathan gasped.

"It's not mine for sure," Brent denied, shaking his head.

All of them eyed Gabriel, whose eyes dilated. He put up his hands as if he was surrendering to authorities. "Of course, I'm not the father! It might be you, Jacob."

Hearing how they shove away the responsibility so easily almost drove him mad. He was a good person but sometimes his cousins were really testing his patience.

Then again, he closed his eyes tightly and inhaled sharply. Jacob was aware that all of them were just 18, still enjoying life, and were trying to live with nothing but enjoyment. Who in their right mind would confess as the father of that child? For sure none of them. So he tried to understand where they were coming from.

"We can't just let Allison be with a baby that is obviously Thompson," he mumbled. "I know her since we are in the same class. Such a smart girl, so we can't just let her be burdened alone."

Nathan tilted his head, looking serious that time around. "Yeah. I know her too. She's Diana's sister."

"Diana?" Gabriel arched his brow.

"One of my flings. Saw her asking Allison to do some tasks for her."

That made them fall into silence again. Jacob could not help but feel guilty once again. Knowing Allison, she always got the highest grade in examinations, and to think that they might be the reason why her life was ruined— made him really remorseful. And even though they knew how excellent a young lady Allison was, it did not change the fact that none of them were ready to be a father.

"If only you did not stick your dick to any pussy you see," Brent grumbled and glared at Nathan who was shocked by his words.

"Whoa, Chill! I'm not the father I swear! I know how to use a damn condom!"

Looking so done, Jacob ran his palm on his face.

"Seriously, this is a serious problem, boys. We cannot let this just slide. Be serious for once!"

That made them shut their mouths. Brent and Nathan were still glaring at each other that Jacob suddenly wanted to roll his eyes and let them be.

Thankfully, Gabriel started talking. The only one sane among the three.

"We need to help her until the baby in her womb is born. By then, we can do a paternity test and we will soon find out who the hell the father is among us."

That made Jacob nod his head in agreement. "Right, and we should also support her all the way out. After all, whoever the father might be, the baby inside her still has the blood of Thompson. We must make sure of her safety."

Every one of them agreed with what he said. Even though they were skeptical of having a child, they could not just put aside a life, especially when the child had their blood.

So when the very next day came, four of them went to look for Allison around the campus.

"Allison," Nathan called her.

Students in the quadrangle who saw the odd and shocking scene began to murmur. It was surprising to see a nerd like her be approached by the Thompsons— the freaking greek gods of their school!

"My God, am I seeing right? The Thompsons are talking with the girl?"

"The hell, how did she charm them? She must be a witch!"

That spread like a wildfire among the students of the campus. And Allison, who was not dumb enough not to think that she was the talk of the people, became really nervous.

"What do you need from me?" she asked, almost stuttering. Now that she was pregnant, and not even sure who was the real father of her child, she could not help but feel so foolish. How could she have intercourse and not remember any of it?

"Let's talk somewhere else, please, Allison," Jacob Thompson mumbled.

Seeing that the man was nice enough to ask, she craned her neck at Rachel who was just standing on her side. Still stunned that the Thompson cousins were in front of them.

"Alright, but I'll be coming with my friend," she uttered, looking at them with obvious seriousness.

"Sure," Gabriel answered her with a light smile.

Together with the well-known cousins, they went to the parking area of the school, not minding the stares of other students at all.

Sliding inside the car of the Thompsons, both Rachel and Allison could feel the growing tension in their bodies for different reasons. While she was nervous about being in the same space as them again, Rachel however was nervous because she used to admire the men.

In the nearby cafe, they went inside, still silent. Allison noticed that the place inside did not have any customers at all and when she looked at Jacob who seemed like he was observing her, he gave her a small smile.

"We rented out the place."

She blinked rapidly and even though she knew that they were wealthy, it was still bizarre to witness them using their money.

Her nervousness was off the roof when they started sitting around one table. Brent Thompson was particularly looking grim and it added to her uneasiness.

"We know that you are pregnant with Thompson's child, Allison," Jacob started the conversation straightforwardly.

Just by hearing that, her face paled in panic. She had no intention to make them know and yet without even a week and they already know about the baby! Grasping her hands tightly together, she gasped. Not able to say anything at all.

"That's why we bring you here with your friend, just so we can talk about the agreement regarding the baby."

With her mouth hung open, she blinked several times, still calming her raging heart.

"I can... I can handle this alone."

That made some of them groan. Gabriel's eyebrows furrowed, Nathan raised an eyebrow, and Brent glared at her while Jacob sighed.

"We can't do that. You are carrying our blood, Allison," Nathan, who was surprisingly serious, said.

"We are not here to talk about responsibilities. We are here to talk about what we should do for the welfare of the baby, I hope you understand. It's not whether we accept it or not, because that is already out of the question, Allison. We know that the baby has our blood."

All of them were relieved that they had Jacob Thompson who could be the middle man in the talk. He was very effective at talking to both sides and it calmed Allison somehow.

"We only need a few things for you to do," Gabriel talked again.

Allison inhaled and eyed him, "What is it?"

"Since we don't know who really is the father, you should not reveal your condition to anyone." Jacob stopped and looked at Rachel who was just listening. "Except your friend here. Not unless we discover who the real father is through a paternity test. You should not say a word about it, not until we unfold the truth."

Paternity test. In Allison's mind, she wondered if once they found out— would the father of her child would fully embrace them? Somehow, it instilled fear in her mind. What would happen if the father shoved them away and let go of responsibility?

Brent who was silent the whole time started talking. "We still don't know the truth, while it stays that way, we will father the child."

Her eyes went to Nathan that time around when he nodded and smirked. "The baby will have four hot daddies, isn't that amazing? We will take care of you for the sake of the little Thompson inside you."

"Yes, and we will provide everything that you need so you don't have to worry that much," said Jacob.

In awe of what was happening right before her eyes, all she could do was simply nod at everything they were saying. Months ago, she was just a normal nerdy student, unnoticeable at all. Who would have thought that it would all end up with that?

Slowly, she bowed her head and sighed. Hearing what they told her lifted a huge and heavy thing in her heart and shoulders. Allison realized that as long as she had them who were willing to look after the baby, it was all fine with her.

Now that she was thinking of it, she smiled deep inside for the baby in her womb. Her baby was lucky to have not only one but four gorgeous daddies.
