Chapter 66. Defeated
“That would totally oust me from his choices.” She huffed, sounding defeated.
I shook my head. “Lana, if you think I’m gonna use this information just to get Titus from you, then I’m offended you think so lowly of me.”
She met my eyes.
“If he was going to choose, I’d rather have him choose by himself and not intentionally influence his decision.”
“That doesn’t exactly make me feel better,” she huffed again, still sounding defeated. “It was pretty clear what his choice was.”
I heaved a deep breath, realizing where this antagonistic attitude of hers was coming from.
I knew she was genuinely thankful for what I did last night, but what she witnessed in the boardroom brought her latter bitter sentiments of me.
We both fell silent after a couple of minutes. We just stayed rooted on our feet, looking somewhere else rather than each other.
