Chapter 72. The End of It
The door opened in a rush and Jane swung her head up quickly. Fredrick was standing by the door with a blank expression. He walked into the room slowly. She did not know what time it was but she knew when the day broke after a very long night.
Fredrick had not come to see her for two days and she had nothing to eat. She was hungry and her throat, dry.
He still did not bring any food for her but that was the least of her concerns for now. She did not understand the look on his face as he approached her. She sprang to her feet and backed away.
“I need to kill you,” he said.
“W…why?” she stuttered fearfully.
“I need to kill you and forget you ever exist so they can never know that you were here and they would keep searching forever and never find you,” he said, his chest heaving heavily.
“No please, please don’t kill me,” Jane clasped her hands together and pleaded tearfully.
“Please? Give me one concrete reason why I should not do it? Tell me
