Chapter 142. Losing Authority
Hilda and Sinclair sat on the dining while their meals were being served by the maids. As usual, by the orders of the new madam, Lisa was not to eat with them. It had been several weeks now since she did not, and it had become a norm.
But something had changed. Even though Lisa was not there at the table, she was the reason for the tense silence and grudge between these two sitting together.
Sinclair acted as if nothing was up, but they both knew something was, and Hilda could only act along just because her son had promised her he was going to handle everything. It did not really feel like anything different had happened. The only thing that had really happened was the day she caught Sinclair and Lisa sitting together.
Even though that was the only thing that had happened, it was a very threatening move since now Sinclair was sneaking to be with the other woman. However after that, Hilda had watched them closely and did not seem to find anything suspicious.
