Chapter 183. Interrupted Intimacy

Jane and Dave sat at the kitchen table, finishing their meal with laughter and shared stories. The remnants of their dinner were scattered across the table, and Jane was busy clearing away the plates, her movements light and efficient. Dave watched her with a mixture of admiration and curiosity. It seemed the kitchen was their love hide out.

“So, Jane tell me,” Dave began, leaning back on the cupboard, “How is the new contract going? I heard it’s been quite the buzz.”

Jane smiled as she stacked the plates. “It’s been amazing, actually. The exposure has been fantastic, and despite the scandal with Frederick, the response has been overwhelmingly positive.”

Dave raised an eyebrow. “That’s great to hear. No issues with anyone at work, I hope?”

Jane shook her head as she loaded the dishwasher. “No problems at all. Everyone’s been really supportive. I guess it’s a testament to how well things are going.”
