Chapter 29. Custody Battle
The lawyer picked the phone, and he straightened up to have a conversation with him.
“Hey, Jude. What’s going on with you?”
“I’m doing okay, Mr. Grant. And you? Are you doing well?”
“If I was, I wouldn’t be calling you now, would I?”
He heard a soft chuckle on the other side of the line. “I guess you can say that, sir. So, what exactly prompts you calling me today? Did something happen that I need to be aware of?”
“Well, sort of. I made a decision a couple of days ago, and I intend to communicate it to you as you would be heavily involved.”
“Well, okay. Tell me what this decision is, Mr. Grant.”
“I called Stephanie the other day, Jude.”
“You did? What did you tell her?”
“That I would be taking her to court. I need to be with my children again, and the restraining order is denying them of a father’s love, you get?”
“I understand you. So basically, you’re asking that the restraining order be revised, or contending for custody
