“But there has to be a conflict to stop, no? We aren’t even letting it start before putting an end to it.”

“Well, I mean we still need some sort of evidence that it’s an outside person. Plus what if he kills again? We don’t know who he is, so we still have to find him anyways.”

“I know we have to. But if not for your intervention, then the packs were going to fight anyways, So maybe 2 kills was what he wanted and he’s done now. Did you think about the possibility of that being the case here?”

“I did,” she responded, pausing to ponder on it one more time. “But the fact that he went back to the morgue makes me think that it is significant to his kills. That’s serial killer behavior, you know, going back to complete the kill for aesthetic purposes.”

“Or maybe he just wants us to know that he’s the person that did both kills?”

“I don’t think so. If both packs knew that the murders were committed by the same person, then they would assume that whoever it was
