Chapter 8. The Start of Something Beautiful
Natasha decided to be the bigger person and walk up to Maeve. She was still sobbing, and Bleidd was even more intoxicated now. Her thoughts were on Fabrizio and Cara, but she had to be there for her little sister. She had let her personal life take too much of her mind recently, and it was time to fix that.
“Mae…”
Maeve looked up for a bit and continued sobbing like no one had spoken.
She continued talking, undeterred by Maeve’s lack of responsiveness.
“I understand how you feel, Mae. I think about Dad too, and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss him. I know that it’s hard for you… sometimes, and I—”
“This is my problem, Tash. Why must this be about you? I’m the one in tears, aren’t I? Every single time Dad came back and tried to get me, no one cared to ask for my opinion or what I want. It’s always about you with Mom, and it makes me feel left out! What do I have to do for you to assure me that everything would be okay?”
