Chapter 79. Unspoken Promises

Victoria’s POV

Dominic pulled back abruptly, his chest heaving as though the kiss had taken as much from him as it had from me. The tension in the air thickened, and for a moment, neither of us said a word. His gaze bore into mine, searching, accusing, and perhaps even pleading.

I couldn’t breathe. My chest heaved as I sat frozen, still feeling the ghost of his lips on mine. My fingers trembled as I pressed them against my swollen lips, trying to erase the sensation that lingered.
