Chapter 80. Another Sleepless Night

Victoria’s POV

The house was drenched in silence, a stark contrast to the chaos swirling inside me. The ticking of the clock was the only sound, but it felt amplified, each tick dragging me further into the labyrinth of my thoughts. Sleep was an elusive thing tonight, slipping further away the harder I tried to grasp it.

Of course, I wasn’t surprised. It had happened the other time as well. He had that effect on me.

I lay curled up on the couch, my body aching and my mind restless. My fingers absently traced the edges of the throw pillow, but my focus was elsewhere. No matter how much I tried to push them aside, the moments from earlier refused to leave me alone.

Dominic’s kiss, his touch, his hot breath against my skin.

The memory alone sent a jolt of pleasure through me. It had been unlike anything I’d ever experienced; so consuming, so demanding, yet impossibly tender. My lips tingled with the phantom sensation of his, and I found myself press
