Chapter 49. One More Chance

Ryan’s POV

Seeing as she just got in I decided to follow her just to make sure she was okay.

I know I distanced myself from her and the case as a whole. But she must have had a good reason for coming here.

And at least if she is still avoiding me, I should know why.

I went over to the elevator and got in as soon as it came to my floor.

She wasn’t in it anymore, so I am sure she had to go down.

I pressed the button on the ground floor and waited for it to get there.

On reaching there, I didn’t see Ellie, around the corridor, so I decided to step out and look for her.

I went a few steps away and looked towards the exit but her silhouette wasn’t in sight.

“Where could she have gone?” I asked myself.

I wasn’t keen on beating a retreat so I went towards the exit to see if she was anywhere nearby.

I scanned the perimeter, but she was still nowhere to be found.
