Chapter 161. We Will Be Fine

"I promise, sweetheart, I am going to get you any animal you want, dog or cat. 'Let that go,'" he assured me with a warm smile.

The animal licks the meat stick and bites into it. It has strong, sharp teeth, thin black stripes around its skin, and white hair. Its eyes are a bright green with some blue in them. It's really beautiful.

It inches closer to me and climbs into my arms, seeking warmth. I laugh as it licks my cheek, lying on its back while I hold it.

"What are you doing?" Lexcis asks, a quizzical look on his face.

"The animal keeps coming to mind as 'it.' 'It' does have a gender. That is what I want to find," I explain.

Mera impatiently exclaims, "What is taking so long?"

"It's a boy!" I announce, and Lexcis rolls his eyes in irritation.

"Are you announcing your baby's gender?" Lexcis laughs, stepping closer.
