Lexcis's grip on me tightens. I wish I could say I could handle this on my own, but it's not that simple.

“I did everything to make him happy, though it didn't work. I still want him to look at me like he doesn't want me to die,” I mumbled.
"He does, though," Lexcis says, his voice reflecting the truth in his words.
