Chapter 255. Don’t Look Back

I draw away, yet I am unable to leave. The man is determined to participate in this dance with me. His hands are on my lower back, pulling me closer so I can stay with him.

"I can't dance with you," I sighed.

His grip on me intensifies as I continue to talk. I take a step back, creating a slight distance between us. The man, undeterred, smoothly follows my movements, maintaining his hold on my lower back.

Then the singing begins.

That voice was exquisite. I have heard it before. I heard that not too long ago. I turn my head so quickly that I think I have shattered my neck.

Is it Mera?

I feel a hand on my chin, gently turning to face the man again.

"You owe me this dance," the man explains.

I take a loud breath at the sound of his voice. It feels like the earth beneath my feet is eroding, as if the planet is collapsing and all the walls are gone. I'm experiencing so many emotions at once
