Chapter 261. Hold Me

"She's here. She is safe. She's with me."
"That's what I keep telling myself when I hear her screaming," I mutter, rubbing my temples. "She wants to go out, and I understand why. I understand why."
I watch her through the small window in the door, battling her own demons.
"She intends to murder Damon," I confess to Laurence and Zave, who exchange concerned glances. "I didn't hear half of what she said. I merely saw her battling me to go back there, and it was enough for me." I sigh, the weight of my decisions heavy on my shoulders.
Her screams pierce through the corridor, loud and desperate, but gradually settling down.
I exit the corridor, leaving her alone in the room. I hate myself for doing this to her, but I can't let her go.
"She is not doing well, is she?" Laurence inquires as soon as I return to the deck.
