"It does not feel real. I believe we need to do more," Mera's attempt to pacify me simply makes me feel worse. My guilt is eating me up. I hear Lexcis exhale angrily. I don't believe it's because of me, yet I can't stop myself from immediately apologizing.
"I apologize. I'll be quiet," I offer, and the only responses I get are astonished looks. This is what I'm meant to say, right? I don't know anymore. It's what I'd tell Damon so he wouldn't put me in the darkroom. Sleeping next to him was just as bad, but at least I didn't hear the voices.
