"Mera, it's okay. I'm sorry. I won't bother you about it. I only wanted to warn you because I believed it was Lexcis," I said gently, reaching out to cup her face. When she doesn't look at me, I move my palm to cup her face, sliding my hand across her cheek towards her chin. I tug at her chin, making her look at me. "I'm sorry, gorgeous. It wasn't my intention to make you feel bad."

I'm stunned when she unconsciously leans into my touch. I'm also surprised by my desire to find out who she's in love with. It's none of my business, but I just need to know.

So I lean in, brushing my thumb over her cheekbone before replacing it with my lips. All I want to do is slam into her. Respectfully.

I don't know what's going on with me tonight. It must be the dress. Or the heavy look in her eyes when she looks at me.
